How to convert NOK to NZD
There is only one number you need to convert NOK to NZD: the rate the market is quoting. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 0.179559, so:
NZD = NOK × 0.179559
Going the other way, divide instead of multiply — or multiply by 5.5692, which amounts to the same thing: one New Zealand Dollar buys 5.5692 Norwegian Kroner.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Norwegian Krone and the New Zealand Dollar
The Norwegian Krone (NOK, symbol kr) is the currency of Norway. The New Zealand Dollar (NZD, symbol NZ$) is the currency of New Zealand.
The rate is set by continuous trading, which is why it rarely reads the same two days running. The figures here are mid-market reference rates from a public daily feed: the rate quoted in the news, not the rate a retail exchange hands you over the counter.
Worked NOK to NZD examples
A price tag. Something marked kr50 comes to 8.978 NZD. Round to 9 NZD for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. kr3,000 a month is 538.68 NZD — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding NZ$1,000 and want to know what it buys in Norwegian Kroner, that is 5569.19 NOK. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your kr500 would fetch roughly 87.0863 NZD instead of 89.7797 NZD. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
Today's reading is 0.179559 NZD per Norwegian Krone, recorded 18 August 2026. The daily feed updates it each morning without any action on your part.
At today's rate, 100 Norwegian Kroner come to 17.955941 NZD. The converter handles any amount, in either direction.
No — treat it as the reference point, not the offer. Exchange desks quote a spread around the mid-market rate and keep the difference. Comparing their quote with the figure above tells you what the convenience is costing you.
