The formula
How to convert MXN to BRL
There is only one number you need to convert MXN to BRL: the rate the market is quoting. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 0.306064, so:
BRL = MXN × 0.306064
Reverse the direction and you divide rather than multiply. Equivalently, one Brazilian Real is worth 3.2673 Mexican Pesos.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Mexican Peso and the Brazilian Real
The Mexican Peso (MXN, symbol Mex$) is the currency of Mexico. The Brazilian Real (BRL, symbol R$) is the currency of Brazil.
Rates between these two shift with interest-rate decisions, trade figures and general market mood. The figures here are mid-market reference rates from a public daily feed: the rate quoted in the news, not the rate a retail exchange hands you over the counter.
Worked MXN to BRL examples
A price tag. Something marked Mex$50 comes to 15.3032 BRL. Round to 15 BRL for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. Mex$3,000 a month is 918.19 BRL — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding R$1,000 and want to know what it buys in Mexican Pesos, that is 3267.29 MXN. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your Mex$500 would fetch roughly 148.44 BRL instead of 153.03 BRL. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
The MXN/BRL rate stands at 0.306064 on 18 August 2026. It is refreshed every morning, so this page never quotes a figure older than a day.

No — treat it as the reference point, not the offer. Exchange desks quote a spread around the mid-market rate and keep the difference. Comparing their quote with the figure above tells you what the convenience is costing you.
