How to convert JPY to INR
To convert Japanese Yen to Indian Rupees, multiply the amount by the current exchange rate. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 0.600511, so:
INR = JPY × 0.600511
Backwards works identically — divide by 0.600511, or multiply by 1.6652. One Indian Rupee comes to 1.6652 Japanese Yen.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Japanese Yen and the Indian Rupee
The Japanese Yen (JPY, symbol ¥) is the currency of Japan. The Indian Rupee (INR, symbol ₹) is the currency of India.
Like any pair, the rate reflects what traders will pay at that moment, not a fixed value. What you see is the market midpoint, updated once a day. A bank or bureau will quote something a little worse.

A price tag. Something marked ¥50 comes to 30.0256 INR. Round to 30 INR for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. ¥3,000 a month is 1801.53 INR — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding ₹1,000 and want to know what it buys in Japanese Yen, that is 1665.25 JPY. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your ¥500 would fetch roughly 291.25 INR instead of 300.26 INR. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
As of 18 August 2026, 0.600511 Indian Rupees buys what one Japanese Yen does. That figure is pulled from a public reference feed once a day.
At today's rate, 100 Japanese Yen come to 60.051137 INR. The converter handles any amount, in either direction.
No — treat it as the reference point, not the offer. Exchange desks quote a spread around the mid-market rate and keep the difference. Comparing their quote with the figure above tells you what the convenience is costing you.
